Volunteer Profile:
Meet Carolyne Groves

Carolyne handles all of our financial recordkeeping and accounting, and she does this as a volunteer! She’s a retired CPA with a background in private and public accounting, so we are fortunate to have her sharing her time and expertise with us.

A native of Orangeburg, Carolyne has lived in Greenville County for 22 years – long enough to see the many changes caused by the rapid growth of our region. She believes in balancing economic growth with sustainable development practices and land preservation and enthusiastically supports the mission of Upstate Forever – to promote sensible growth and the protection of special places in the Upstate.

She stays busy keeping up with her two children, daughter Katie, age 17, and son Matt, age 13. In her free time, Carolyne enjoys riding horseback and spending time outdoors. We’re lucky she has found time to help us, too!

Our Volunteers Are The Best!

Each summer we host a party in honor of the wonderful people who volunteer for Upstate Forever. Those attending this year’s event were: Seated left to right: Ellen Kochansky, Jack Macauley, Charlie Gentry, Mary Lou Jones, Billy Lacher, Terry Gentry, Rosie Jordan, Lynne Lucas, Virginia White, Jeanne Reid, and Allie Meyer. Standing left to right: Kris Yon, Wes Cooler, Keith Marrero, Seth Harrison, Jamie Davis, Bill Twitty, Kent Davis, Tom Kester, and Jean Graves.
