Charles
Gentry, one of Upstate Forever’s
most loyal volunteers, has been with us from the very beginning.
Whenever something in our office needs fixing or assembling, we
call Charles and he always comes through. He has also been a great
help with our conferences and mailings.
Charles
has lived in the Upstate for over 30 years. He has a degree in textile
engineering, and spent most of his career with a manufacturer of
materials testing machines. His engineer’s know-how has served
him well in his retirement, as he now spends much of his time restoring
old houses. Thank you, Charles, for sharing your time and talents
with Upstate Forever!
Jim
Gossett has invested hundreds of hours in researching and
organizing information
on large tracts of land along major waterways in the Upstate. The
first river he tackled was the Saluda, and the database he put together
served as the basis for a mailing to several hundred landowners.
We have since received several inquiries from landowners along the
river who are interested in learning more about our land trust program.
Jim
has a masters in environmental engineering from Stanford University,
and brings to his work with Upstate Forever
almost 35 years of professional experience in the planning, design,
and oversight of wastewater management facilities. He retired and
moved to the Greenville area in 2002. His professional skills and
his keen interest in stream conservation are a tremendous asset
for Upstate Forever, and we’re lucky
he found us. Thank you, Jim! |
