Volunteer Profiles

Dan Roberts can often be heard saying, “How can I help?” We always have an answer for that!

He has become one of our most versatile volunteers, sharing his numerous talents and skills with us in a variety of ways. With his experience in computer technology and corporate efficiency, he has done everything from solving equipment and software problems to computer training for our staff. An accomplished writer (you may have seen some of his great letters to the editor), Dan has also helped us by researching and authoring articles for the Upstate Update, our monthly newsletter.

Thank you, Dan, for all that you do for us!

Gail Clark is not what one would call a career volunteer. Just the opposite, in fact: she is quite particular about where she donates her time and talents. But when she stumbled across a newspaper article last year about Upstate Forever, she knew right away that this was a cause that she could get on board with.

“I firmly believe in what you all are doing,” Gail says. “One hundred percent.” So much so that she happily took on a tedious but important task: clipping newspaper articles about issues of concern to Upstate Forever staff. Every week, she sends a neatly organized folder of selected information around the office, keeping our staff up to date on Upstate issues and events.

Thank you, Gail!

“Jay and I are grateful for the thorough job Upstate Forever does to encourage responsible development and natural resource protection. The organization truly understands the obligation we have to our descendents to protect our land, air and water.”
– Phil Betette
