Dianne Culbertson is a native of Gray Court in Laurens County. She has been an active volunteer in her community, schools, and scouting. A graduate of Bauder College and Kennedy Western University, Dianne has worked in interior design, banking, juvenile justice, and social services. For the past decade, she has been heavily involved in historic preservation and conservation. Dianne is founder and President of the Gray Court – Owings Historical Society, working to preserve the history and historic structures of the area. She is State Chaplain of the SC Daughters of the American Revolution and Vice Chair of the Tamassee DAR School Board. She has served on the boards of Laurens County Community Foundation, Laurens County First Steps, Laurens County Museum, Rosemont Preservation Society, Conservation Voters of South Carolina, and the Joe Adair Outdoor Education Foundation. She is a member of Dials United Methodist Church where she is a Sunday School teacher, choir member, and Chair of the Trustees and PPRC. She has worked on the Laurens County Land Trust Task Force and was named Upstate Forever’s 2009 Land Conservation Champion in recognition of her remarkable achievements in the conservation field. Dianne has two grown sons, Chad and Tucker.
