Marianna Black Habisreutinger
With
her extensive involvement in education, health care, and the
arts, Marianna Black Habisreutinger has deeply enriched her native
Spartanburg as well as the entire Upstate community. A graduate
of Mt. Vernon Junior College and the University of Mississippi,
Marianna is a former Spartanburg County public school teacher
and currently serves as an officer of Champion Investment Corporation.
At present, she holds leadership roles with numerous Upstate
charitable organizations, including the Urban League of the Upstate
(board chair), Spartanburg Technical College Foundation, USC
Upstate, Storm Eye Institute of the Medical University of South
Carolina, Ellen Hines Smith Girls’ Home, St. Luke’s
Free Medical Clinic, and Children’s Advocacy Center. For
twenty years, she was a trustee of both the Mary Black Foundation
and Mary Black Memorial Hospital. In the past, Marianna has also
served as president of the Junior League of Spartanburg, chairman
of the Board of Trustees of the Spartanburg County Foundation,
and member of the Board of Visitors of MUSC, and founded the
Charles Lea Center Foundation.
In
her free time, Marianna enjoys spending time with her children
and grandchildren, world travel,
skiing, hiking, and bird hunting.
