Scott Montgomery grew up in Spartanburg and is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College with a degree in managerial economics. In 2003, Scott founded Southern Mulch Company, a landscaping supply firm with locations in Greenville and Spartanburg. He continues to work with the firm as its president and CEO. Scott also serves on the Board of Governors of the Spartanburg Chamber of Commerce and is Vice-Chair of the Spartanburg Regional Heart Center Foundation Board.
