Erin Knight
Conservation Stewardship Director

     Errin Jordan Knight is Conservation Stewardship Director at Upstate Forever. She oversees the organization's land trust outreach campaign as well as preparing baseline reports for and monitoring properties subject to conservation agreements granted to Upstate Forever.

In addition to her work at Upstate Forever, Erin practices landscape design with a specialty in gardens for children. Her public landscape designs include the Children's Garden at Linky Stone Park in Greenville, SC and the neighborhood park at Sliding Rock Creek, both community projects led by Leadership Greenville.

Erin is a co-author of Designing Outdoor Environments for Children: Landscaping Schoolyards, Gardens, and Playgrounds, published in 2006 by McGraw Hill. This book is a guide for designers and all who wish to provide gardens for children.

Erin graduated Summa Cum Laude from Clemson University in 2001 with a degree in landscape architecture. She was awarded the Certificate of Honor from the American Society of Landscape Architects, the highest award given to a student of landscape architecture. For her honors thesis, Erin wrote a book entitled Children and Landscapes: Environmental Education and Childhood Development , which was published in 2002. Erin studied art and architecture in Italy and urban form and genesis in Turkey, Switzerland and Greece.
