On September 19, 2008, the Land Trust Accreditation Commission awarded Upstate Forever with accredited status. Accreditation means Upstate Forever’s land trust program meets national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands forever. This achievement is a testimony to landowners, both those who already preserve their land with Upstate Forever and those who are considering doing so, that they are working with a highly professional organization that is fully equipped to truly ensure land protection forever.
The Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance established in 2006, is governed by a volunteer board of diverse land conservation and nonprofit management experts from around the country. More information is available on the Commission’s website.
