Landowner Outreach: Oconee Forever

The Oconee County Outreach Committee, dubbed “Oconee Forever” by its members, was established in 2007. This dynamic group of local residents has hosted numerous landowner events including a pancake breakfast, a “Barbeque and Bluegrass” gathering, and a “Low Country Boil in the Upstate” to name a few. In 2007, Oconee Forever was critical to the effort to rally public and legislative support for the protection of the beloved local landmark Stumphouse Mountain.

The group’s latest endeavor is the establishment of an Oconee County Conservation Bank, which will utilize local funding to protect important lands exclusively in Oconee County. Learn more, including how you can support this effort, on the Oconee County Conservation Bank website.
