The Pickens County Outreach Committee was established in 2008. This group has successfully hosted several “Barbeque and Bluegrass” events at the beautiful Table Rock Lodge at Table Rock State Park.
The group was critical to the protection of the 560-acre portion of the Nine Times Tract in northern Pickens County, which is now protected as a nature preserve by The Nature Conservancy. The group continues to advocate for the protection of the remaining 1,640 acres of the Nine Times Tract.
