About Upstate Forever Spartanburg

Upstate Forever was founded in Greenville, South Carolina in 1998 to promote sensible growth and protect special places in the Upstate region of South Carolina. Upstate Forever does so through education, advocacy, and a land trust program.

In 2004, Upstate Forever received a grant from the Mary Black Foundation to open its first satellite office. Upstate Forever’s Spartanburg office, located at 100 East Main Street, was fully staffed by August 2004.
Upstate Forever’s Spartanburg office advocates for policies and regulations that encourage active living in Spartanburg County.
