Mr. Mickel began his career with U.S. Shelter Corporation in 1981 and continued his career with Insignia Financial Group, Inc. in 1990. Mr. Mickel started his own company in 1992 after leaving Insignia. His business activities include investments, acquisitions, finance, sale and asset management of apartment communities, condominium communities, shopping centers, land, venture capital and other various activities.
Mr. Mickel is active in the Greenville area community serving on the boards of The Daniel-Mickel Foundation, the Charity Ball, GLDC, Clemson University President's Advisory Board, The Cotillion Club, the Peace Center, the Governor's School for the Arts Foundation, and the Finance and Investment Committee of the Community Foundation of Greater Greenville. Mr. Mickel is a past board member of the Clemson University Foundation, past Chairman of the Clemson University Real Estate Foundation, past president of Artisphere, past president of The Poinsett Club, past President of The Museum Association, past Chairman of the Community Foundation of Greater Greenville and past Treasurer and Board Member of the Greenville Tech Foundation.
Mr. Mickel serves as President of RSI Holdings, Inc. and Manager of Capital Deployment, LLC and various other entities. Mr. Mickel earned a B.S. degree in Industrial Management from Clemson University (1979), a Master's in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina (1981) and is a graduate of Leadership South Carolina. He is a native of Greenville, South Carolina and a member of First Presbyterian Church.
