Richard W. (Dick) Riley is the first two-term Governor of South Carolina (1979-1987) and U. S. Secretary of Education (1993-2001). He currently is a senior partner with the law firm Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough and its affiliate EducationCounsel. The award-winning Riley Institute at Furman University was created in his honor, and he is its Chief Inspiration Officer.
