A Spartanburg native, Jeff Tillerson has worked for the City of Spartanburg since 2002 in the code enforcement office. He currently holds the role of Senior Code Enforcement Officer, where he is responsible for commercial maintenance and compliance with city zoning. Jeff is a Navy Veteran and served for 8 years following high school. After returning from service, he attended Virginia College in Spartanburg and studied business administration and management.
Jeff is a graduate of Leadership Spartanburg as well as a graduate of Spartanburg County Foundation’s Grassroots Leadership Institute. He joined the board of Spartanburg Area Conservancy (SPACE) in 2012, where he served as board secretary for many years before assuming the roles of Vice Chair in 2018 and Board Chair in 2019. He currently serves as Board Chair for Christmas In Action Spartanburg and Total Ministries. Jeff is also a member of the Upstate Land Conservation Fund Governance Committee and Board of Directors of Upstate Forever. He is very involved with his church, serving as the President of the United Methodist Men’s chapter at Silver Hill Memorial United Methodist Church. In addition, he serves as the District President for MenNMinistry.
Jeff has two boys; one is an environmental engineer at Milliken and the other is a freshman at Clemson University studying criminal justice. In his spare time he likes to hike, play golf and give back to his community.
