Katie Hottel joined Upstate Forever in February 2013. With previous experience working for environmentally focused nonprofit organizations in the Greenville area, Katie is excited to apply her knowledge of the natural environment to the Upstate. A graduate of Furman University with a degree in Earth and Environmental Sciences, she also holds a certification as a Senior Sustainability Professional. Katie is an avid cartographer, and enjoys making maps for Upstate Forever.
Originally from Charlotte, NC, Katie fell in love with Greenville during her time at Furman, where she met her husband, David. In her free time, Katie enjoys exploring local restaurants and coffee shops, biking on the Swamp Rabbit Trail, and spending time in the beautiful mountains and parks of the Upstate.
