Lisa Hallo joined Upstate Forever in 2007 and since that time has served in several capacities with the UF Clean Water and Land Planning & Policy Programs. She assumed her current role as Deputy Director several years ago, now overseeing and supporting UF's advocacy and conservation work and helping to manage the day-to-day operations of the organization. Lisa has more than 30 years of experience in the conservation field, with 20+ in leadership positions.
Lisa earned a bachelor's degree in journalism and a master's degree in Environmental Studies. Her conservation career began immediately following college graduation with a Student Conservation Association internship based at Arches National Park. Since that time, she has worked with several other conservation organizations across the country including the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps, Glen Helen Outdoor Education Center, and the Antioch New England Institute.
Lisa currently lives in Pickens County with her husband, Jeff, a Professor at Clemson University; her three kids, Cooper, Ashlyn, and Bridger; and dog Cadi. In her free time, she loves to travel, jog, hike, garden, spend time with her family, and explore new places in the Upstate.
