Members Only Field Trip to Twin Chimneys Landfill
Come join Upstate Forever as we tour the Twin Chimneys Landfill!
Owned and operated by Greenville County, The Twin Chimneys Landfill opened in January of 2007 and is designed to operate for 50 years.
Featuring the latest technology to protect the environment, Twin Chimneys strives to make disposal of garbage and recyclables customer-friendly while also being eco-friendly.
On this tour you will learn about how Twin Chimneys is environmentally-conscious, cost-effective, and sensitive to growth and land use.
Greenville County continues to address issues such as source reduction, recycling, composting and collection and disposal of solid waste. The County also has a commitment to monitor and maintain the facility 30 years after its inevitable closing.
