About the property and workday

Purchased in 2006 with support from the South Carolina Conservation Bank, the Upper Chinquapin Greenway is 36 acres located on the headwaters of the Chinquapin Creek across from Spartanburg’s Milliken Research Center. This protected property contains 1.6 miles of walking trails and is the home of a rare plant, the dwarf-flowered heartleaf, as well as a diverse stand of ferns and hardwoods.

This volunteer workday is taking place during the South Carolina Land Trust Network’s Land Trust Days, an initiative to connect SC residents to the land and the people who work to protect it.
