Upstate Forever relies on residents like you to help us advocate for smart growth policies that support community goals. Advocacy Training 101: GVL Smart Growth on Friday, April 8, 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM is a free, in-person advocacy training workshop offered to help you help us advocate in 2022 and beyond.

What you can expect

Expert guidance
Advocacy Training 101: GVL Smart Growth features expert guidance from advocacy specialists at Pecan PR, followed by a session with UF staff that will guide you through pertinent issues related to the City of Greenville’s new development code. Although this training focuses on engaging in advocacy in/with the City of Greenville (as opposed to Greenville County), non-city residents are welcome to register.

Learn, lunch, and learn some more
This is a four-hour training with three unique "sessions" plus lunch! Participants learn how to identify key advocacy issues, determine your target audience, and effectively frame and deliver your message to help advance Upstate Forever's local policy advocacy priorities. Lunch and refreshments are provided by UF.

Registration required by March 25
Space is limited to 50 people and advance registration is required. To register for Advocacy Training 101: GVL Smart Growth on April 8, click here. The training venue is the Community Room on the Greenville Water Campus near downtown Greenville. We hope to see you there!
